 Katie Hagan

Diploma of Graphic Design

I fell in love with Australia when I first visited the country on a tourist visa four years ago. I realised there wouldn't be a better place to advance my education and marketing portfolio. I’ve previously worked in marketing but my dream job is to own my very own graphic design business. TAFE Queensland is helping me achieve my dreams by developing my understanding of several graphic design programs and by providing hands on training in several different print mediums. My teachers are leaders in their industry and provide practical training giving me valuable knowledge and skills I can use in my professional career.

Resources required

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Courses may require different resources, depending on your study location;

South Bank, Brisbane:

It is highly recommended that students have access to a CAD or Gaming quality machine. Minimum specifications can be found here. Windows machines are ideal as Autodesk programs are not available native to Mac (you may use a dual boot system however we will not be able to provide any support in this process and there are known glitches using this arrangement).

Autodesk programs (Revit & AutoCad) can be downloaded for free as an educational version. Adobe programs and Sketchup are available on campus however it would be beneficial to purchase a personal copy to assist completion of project work.

Coomera:

  • Pens and notepads
  • USB memory stick
